Insanity with Dad

Daddy is in month two of Insanity. I'm proud of him for keeping up on it :) I haven't. I enjoy doing it with him once a week or so, but I just really don't want to every day. It's super repetitive, and now the exercises they do are just way too difficult for me! lol Anyway, Annabelle loves watching him :) Today he was jumping up and down to push up a lot, so she was a little caught off guard haha

Wood backdrop art

I saw this wooden backdrop idea on Pinterest and decided to mimic it...along the way, I found another wooden item, wall art, and decided to mimic it too. I mimicked neither, and got this. haha Decided Sadie needs it for her photography business collection for baby pics.  Not even sure how many baby pics she will end up taking (because she's just starting out and doing all categories, until she finds which best fits her), but she's taken a lot for us, so I'm gifting it to her :) Aaaaanywho....I made it today, it is much darker than I though it would be, but I like it. Annabelle was happy today, but she was not really into smiling when Sadie was here for pictures. I gave her my pearls to wear and they were way too distracting, and for some reason or another, she will smile if Sadie peeks her head around the camera, but not if she's directly behind it. She got some really cute ones though :) We also went and took a few family pictures in the snake infested woods. I'm sure we barely made it out alive....
 After her last nap, I took her out for a few more, and she was WAY too sleepy (and the light, and the camera, and the floor drop...bla bla bla) Poor baby. But here's it is and here's my sleepy girl ::

And when she's really tired she won't even look at me. Sooo, she's totally zoning out. This was VERY short lived, maybe 5 minutes. 

going away party

Our friends threw us a going away party at the Snow's today. We had Ashely, Sean's boss' daughter, watch Annabelle so we could kick back a bit. We grilled out had lots of food and played spoons, which was hilarious. After a few hours, Ashley informed me that Annabelle wasn't taking a bottle (she never really does, so I wasn't really expecting her to), and was too fussy to sleep, so we decided we needed to go home. But, we weren't done with the party! So we brought it over to our house! :) We continued playing games, and had chocolate fondue and peanut butter cup brownies. MMMM! It was a great time. I will really miss our friends here!

Playtime

This is where we've been sitting to play lately; in front of the mirror. She loves it! Since we've started sleep training this week, her naps have been pretty predictable too. So, the time we play here is also predictable, and I think she likes that too. From here she can also see when I go in to the kitchen (in the mirror), and she thinks it's funny when I wave at her from over there :)

6 months!

My beautiful 6 month old daughter. Wow, 6 months....man, time flies. This sure is a fun age though! She is sitting up, rolling over, and being totally funny and silly (note: funny faces she makes CONSTANTLY ha). I just love her so much. She really makes her momma happy :)

Sippy cup

I give this to her with water in it. She just naws on it, but it's good practice right? ;) I've given her water from a cup a few times, she keeps maybe a teaspoon of it in her mouth long enough to swallow, and the rest rolls down her chin. But she does really well (doesn't choke). Anywhoo...she was really into this cup today :)

Craft sales

I finished a project/order today for an Army wife friend of mine, and as I was taking a picture of it to keep, I decided I would try and sell a few more. hmm....because I have SO much time on my hands. haha I don't know...I guess I thought it would be a good distraction from (practically) sitting around twiddling my thumbs until the movers get here in 2 1/2 weeks. Also, I bought a LARGE piece of 2 by 4 to make this project so I have ample amounts of wood left over, and would love to get rid of it before we leave.
SO, I posted a picture of the project - "Countdown to Daddy" blocks- and then I made a mini Christmas countdown, and asked for customers. I got 7 orders, and am thoroughly excited to make them, ship them, and add a little extra $$ to my camera fund! :) Also, the popularity of these blocks, and the amount of time it takes to make them (which is decent, but not excessive), and the variations I could make have me thinking about a business/Etsy shop again... :) Adding to my list of ideas...

Bed upgrade[ish]

I woke up feeling so weird.....We're moving in 3 weeks, and I feel like it's so close but so far away. (hard to explain) I know it's coming, but there are a lot of things I can't quite do yet to prepare for it. I.e. dust the blinds, or clean the walls. I mean, I COULD do those things, but then would have to do them again in 2 1/2 weeks when we start the cleaning move out list. We're not packing any of our own boxes except what we will be taking with us. So, we wait. But I'm just itching to DO something. 
Also, there's this other part of me that feels as though I'm entering a more sophisticated era of our adult life. Dumb, really, but we're moving up the ranks; no longer enlisted, now we'll be "officer" status. With that comes feelings of having very "inadequate" things. I realize, to the fullest, how ridiculous this is, and I wasn't raised to believe that things define you or that you have any reason to need special, new, brand name furniture, or clothes or whatever...but it's just an overwhelming emotion I have right now. We don't have a bedframe, our glasses don't match, our couch is dirty, squeaky, and green, pretty much all of our furniture is hand-me-down, and a lot of it not really my style or taste (and most of it has no sentimental value either)... Most days I don't really care about all of that.....there are definitely more important things in  life. But, for some reason, today I just want a change.
Soooooooooo, I had Sean help me move the guest bed frame into our room. Simple as it was it totally satisfied my "I want something new and I want our house to look better" feeling. Odd.
Having said all of that, we are saving for a new couch (or sectional), bed frame and vacuum. There are lots of other things that I would love to change, but don't see any point to spend a bunch of money on them. I would LOVE to find a new dining room table to update, or maybe build my own! I'm also very interested in doing the same for the coffee table, nightstands, craft table and more! :) We'll see how far I ACTUALLY go with those ideas, but I definitely have a running list going on paper, on Pinterest, and in my head.

I also have a few more ideas for our room for right when we get there, and will be glad to get some pictures up on the wall quickly this time :) *the holes covered up by paint in this picture are fromthe previous tenants, but we have picture frames that usually hang right there anyway.

Rolling over

This is how Annabelle has been rolling over for the past month or so. From her back to her tummy without moving her head! haha Well, she figured it out! She can now roll over from her back to her front successfully, and does so to reach her toys! Her first step to becoming mobile....oh no!! ;)

Dress Uniform Day

The first Friday of the month Sean wears his dress blue uniform to work. He just looks so handsome in it, I grabbed a pic with the baby when he got home (he was JUST about to change ;)

Done! There's even an EMPTY drawer! WHAT?! yep, crazy. And the diaper box isn't a mess, it's filled with baby shower stuff for my niece's shower! I considered covering the whole thing in cute paper, but it's probably all going to be relocated shortly anyhow. It will be the one craft/project I pack in the car instead of having the movers pack in truck. :)

Other than the projects I'm currently working on, the entire room is completely ready to be packed. Well, I will probably throw all the paintbrushes, scissors, pencils, photos, etc in ziplocks in the next week too. I cleaned off both shelves, inside desk, filing boxes, under the bed and in the closet. Everyhing that needs it has a label, random scraps of garbage are gone, everything has been condensed and organized, and all surfaces dusted and/or cloroxed. I have been in here since 8 am, and it's already 9:30pm. Sooooo, even thought it doesn't LOOK like much, I did A LOT today! Did I mention that the only thing on my to-do list for today was laundry? haha oops! I did 1 load, though, so I guess that counts, right? But it was good. When I'm in a cleaning/organizing/chunk-the-junk kind of mood, and totally motivated WITH a happy, content baby.....you won't see me until the project is complete. And COMPLETE IT IS. Goooooooodnight.

Sidenote: Annabelle wore her first Beaver's shirt today :) Also, I had the air blasting (because I wanted the blinds open, and blinds open = 5 degrees warmer), so she needed some pants. NONE of her pants in her 6 month drawer (that's her current clothes size) fit her because her belly is too big *grin* so I reached into her 9-12 month drawer and grabbed these 12mo black sweats. They fit. Whooooooa! was not expecting that. They're a tad long, but man....she's not even 6 months old! lol her 12 month wardrobe won't be season appropriate for at LEAST another 3 months!  #livinginthesouthproblems

Softball

Sean played in his first softball game today! Mr. B asked him to play on his team since they were short a few people. It was hot, so we watched the first half from the car, and the second half up close :) Sean did really well! He hit every at bat and he made two really good plays. He was playing catcher this game. I don't know if he will play every game, but there will be more to watch for sure!

This was from today at lunch. I go to the gym twice a week during Sean's lunch and he sits in the car with her. Today I came out to find her sitting on the floorboard between his legs. haha  random, but cute.
